Why do those that criticize evolution and any other basis of science have no idea?

I don't know why people who believe in science and evolution dismiss the idea of God, and people of religion and faith dismiss the notion of evolution. I am a theist, I believe in God. I also believe that evolution is part of God's creation. But so many religious fanatics out there think that evolution is science and therefore wrong. It explains how everything came into being.
