You should try to locate it. Try a broom, mop, anything with long handle so that you won't have to feel close to it. As crazy as it sounds, I've actually sprayed bugs with pledge. Any household cleaner will do, then put a gl or bowl over it with a weight of some sort on top. It'll die and you can scoop it up in the morning.
