Baseball and Football most popular American Soprts?

Would you agree that, with all due respect to basketball, hockey, and soccer (sports I also love), that baseball and football are the most popular American sports? They are my favorite sports (Red Sox and Patriots fan) and MLB and NFL clubs seem to inspire religious like devotion from their fans where as the NBA and NHL teams (with some exceptions like the Lakers, Celtics, Red Wings, and Maple Leafs) do not have the same pion from their fans. Agree or disagree?
