How to make yellow paint on walls appear less dramatic or more dull?

I painted my kitchen a pastel yellow and it looks sooo bright. It doesn't look as pastel as I thought it would and I'm not sure that I like it. Is there a gloss or something that I could put on the walls to make them appear less bright and a little more dull?
