Absolutely! The cello is one of the most beautiful instruments out there. My cello teacher once told me that playing any other instrument is uncomfortable and ridiculous: with the cello, she said, "you just hug it and it sings for you." :) And your height has nothing to do with your ability to play--cellos come in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full sizes. If you go into a music store, they can get you set up with the right one for your size.
